From the topic Flashchat a couple of days ago, posted by me.

Not about the flashchat buuuut I've noticed the forum keeps messing up for me, it freezes and I can't post and have to shut the window and wait a few min. Does anyone else have that problem?

Well its gotten worse. I can't even post anything anymore. The forum freezes for 5 min, then when I try to go back to it it says server cannot be found and then I have to wait another 5 min. By the time I get back on the forum its been 15 min and I forget what I was gonna say and all that, its frustrating! THrant.gif And then I'm on a time schedule like "OMG I have to hurry and go here to post what I want to say before I get kicked off again!" 1 post every 15-20 min is just insane. O_o Even refreshing the page doesn't work.

Everything else is working alright though, its just the forum...soon I won't be able to get on it at all without it freezing the second I get on it. Its already happened to my mom and she thinks the forum has too many pictures or something and needs to be cleaned out.

I seriously don't think me and my mom are the only ones with this trouble.

I need help. sad.gif

Also, sometimes the forum is reallllly slow.

Yeah... even using firefox blink.gif

Sometimes a similar thing to which happens to DG happens sometimes here, too; but, refreshing works here rolleyes.gif

Nothing wrong with the forum, though the shoutbox usually seems to delete my lines. >.<

Guys, I´ve never had any of those problems, freezing, shoutbox, flashchat or slowness... blink.gif And I use 4 different pc´s! Though all of them are quite new, maybe it could be that? Anyway, I´ll ask.
Karsten

Disappearing shouts are weird indeed. Also sometimes other shouts kinda wiggle their way in before your own, when yours has already been up there first. Makes for awkward convo's.
Forum is slow, sometimes I get the "server not found" message, refreshing usually helps.
Karsten
unfortunately the forum is not hosted on my server anymore ... so there is not much I could do dry.gif

I don't have the same problem as you, although I do have a problem with the shoutbox. Often I see my shouts appear and then it just disappears after 2 seconds.

+1
It's annoying,like DG said,when I want to post something,but the forum won't respond in like 5 minutes,I just give up. sad.gif

Its just frustrating...took me 30 mins for one post. I don't get it. Like it times out while I am typing my post then when you go to hit reply it freezes and goes to error page. Then when trying to get the page back it might take several minutes before I can get back to the forum coming in from the homepage. And at times the homepage will not load until it times out.Very strange since we have been posting just fine on our computers and have changed nothing. Anywhere else I go on the net is not freezing up. We have high speed cable and our computers are not very old. Both running windows xp and nothing changed on either computer. Since we are not dinosaurs yet maybe someone will have an idea for us to check out if it is an IE problem. Thanks...if this even goes through. :)

LOL as soon as I put this post up all things started working like lightning....hmmmm strange.

I got an error page too for a while so I guess it was more of a problem of the forum (or the server) than your computer. Everything works fine again. Thank god. :)

Forum seems to be working good now. winky.gif

Haha, the forum had been working fine for me for ages right up until I viewed this thread yesterday laugh.gif After that it wouldn't reload for the rest of the day. Must be some sort of jinx in here.

I think the server is a bit overloaded at times. I've seen this happen a million times at work, with pretty heavy duty sites and forums being loaded on a server that is a tiny bit lacking in resources. (cpu, memory).

Other then the standard 'upgrade the amount of memory' there's a couple of optimizations that could be done. But I won't go into my geek/nerd mode here :) (hey, I do that stuff for a living you know :) )

really, it's all our fault, we hit this poor site way too much ;) Hehehehe, appetite for destruction ;)
