Is it just me or are some of the signatures on the forum becoming larger and larger?
Some of them are even filling 75% or more of my screen (at a ratio at 1280 : 1024)...
Am I the only one finding this disturbing or...

http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.as...72836&TPN=4 No need to read anything - just scroll through and look at some of the siggies there. It's absolutely crazy trying to read posts there sometimes! For my part, until I start having that problem here, the signature thing isn't really going to bother me.

Huge signatures are only allowed in the minority of forums and I don't care what the people in this india forum do with their thread space.
They make you scroll an eternity until you can read the essential text of the posts itself. It should also be a matter of sanity.

In some forums I saw that the sig size is limited..... I personally would put everything I love and I feel in my sigs, but I thought it would be irritating to have huges sigs so I was limiting myself....
But I think this matter is a bit overreacted in the tone of complaining about huge sigs....

I was supporting your point, but saying that the kind of size apparent in IF is the sort of size where some kind of line has to be drawn. I think most members here are pretty much fine in terms of siggy sizes.

I don't really see the point of huge sigs. It's like reading the same post over and over and over and over again, which is a bit annoying if it takes up half of my screen.
Exactly my point...

If everyone's sig was huge it would really suck. A couple larger ones here and there don't bother me, as long as it's only a few. After a while it gets unwieldy.

I second that. And I don't usually read people sigs at all (unless there's something über cool quotes from me :P)

Is there a way of hiding people's signatures so they don't show up in posts? This may solve the problem of those who don't want to scroll for ages, or are on limited bandwith and don't want to waste it.

No, for what I know there isn´t a way of hiding sigs. But we do ask from administration to please control the size of sigs because its boring to have to scroll so much to read posts.
There is no specific rule on sig sizes, we just ask you to use common sense. If this doesn´t work, we´ll have to get more strict, but I reaaaaaaaaaally don´t think there´s a need for it.
In this case, size does matter.

Just found this topic and ideed some have signatures that are WAY to big... or have way too much stuff in their signature
I kno many forums that limit what can bu put in the signature, either simensions of images or the amaout of characters that can be in a signature
