We are just back from the Sonisphere Festival in Nijmegen, NL with headliners Metallica. We have to say it was a great time on stage and the crowd was awesome, thanks to all of you for coming out and screaming, shouting and even moshing! Mega thanks to the Sonisphere promoters and organizers as well as Live Nation, Rudolph and Gabriel at Bear Brown, the guys from Korn, Slipknot and Metallica - all cool people! We look forward to future Sonisphere appearances.
We are now in Germany to begin the first stages of preproduction on the next Kamelot album. Its great to be back in this familiar region and environment we know so well. We are of course very excited about the new ideas and the upcoming recordings. The concerts in Sweden and Finland last weekend were awesome, thanks to all the fans! See you in 2010!
Next week we will round out the final Headliner shows here in Europe for The Ghost Opera. A new chapter begins!!

We are busy working on the details and flights for the upcoming Norwegian shows this May. It will be a very fun and exciting weekend in the home country of Khan, our singer and my comrade. Our heads are still reeling from the recent European tour, so many awesome memories and amazing fans.
I wanted to again say thanks to all of you that came out, see you very soon. I also want to thank Hard Rock Cafe for their support, at the HRC In Cologne we were treated with a killer after show party and got to meet several hundred fans and friends up close and personal, also thanks to MusicStore Cologne for their support and help with this event. We hope to plan more events like this in the future!

We are back from the amazing European Tour and what great times it has been. Starting with the amazing Tilburg show, sold out many weeks in advance and now nearing another sold status for 2010. The fans were amazing and we cant wait to return with an even bigger show for you. Cologne was also nearly soldout and the crowd was so loud at the Essigfabrik. The afterparty at Cologne's Hard Rock Cafe was a lot of fun and we got to meet so many great people from Germany and surrounding countries. Our first UK tour was a big success, SOLD OUT shows in Glasgow and London was a great bonus.
Thanks to all the fans in UK for your support!! Following the UK we went to one of Europe's best concert venues, Z7 in Pratteln Switzerland. The place was packed and it was a Tuesday and in my opinion the best Z7 show the band has done. Then we made it to our first appearance in Toulouse, thanks to all the fans that came out. We had a blast! Next up SPAIN!! What can I say? All the shows in Spain were amazing for us, Barcelona was soooo loud. At the SOLD OUT Madrid show the soundman couldn't hear the PA over the crowd singing. Alicante was a perfect final night with a big stage and new fans to see us. All in all the tour was another step for Kamelot and the Kamelot Nation!!
I want to say many thanks to the Kamelot Crew: Jeroen, Raymond, Rich, Ingo, Holger, Roger and Linda. Thanks as well to the driver on this tour Bjorn (Il Divo), Anne-Catrin, Pako, Rocky, Thomas at ICS, Rudolph and Gabriel at Gold and Bold, Red Car Coaches all local promoters, Sarah at Artworx, the bands DELAIN, SERENITY, AMBERIAN DAWN, DREAM EVIL and local bands that played on this tour. Well its less than one week from the European Tour kickoff at the SOLD OUT Tilburg Netherland show on March 20th. I can honestly say I have never been so excited about a tour as I am with this one. Once we arrive in Europe early next week we will finish preparations for the tour and will lay a smack down each and every night. New cities and venues include Tilburg, Netherlands, Cologne Germany, Dublin Ireland, Glasgow Scotland, Leeds GB, Tolouse France and Alicante Spain. We return to some tried and true cities like London, Pratteln and the country we played our first headliner shows, Spain! ¡Te Extraño Mucho!
Regardless of the country, Kamelot fans have a unique and special soul. What else is happening in the KamelotNation, well we will release the Double LP Vinyl versions of Ghost Opera and The Black Halo. Kamelot returns to Finland this Summer for their first appearance at the Sauna Open Air Festival in Tampere. "We love Finland, we have some really great memories of the shows there, the fans are amazing!" states drummer Casey Grillo. Kamelot has played Helsinki 2 years in a row, both SOLD OUT concerts. In 2007 the band played to a packed hall in the Pakkahuone in Tampere , so a return to Tampere was definately in order. See you all there!

Kamelot drummer Casey Grillo recently played on 2 tracks for Japanese Rock/POP/R&B solo artist Madoka along side the legendary bassist Bobby Watson (Rufus/Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, and Michael Jackson...more) .
Casey adds: "On two of the tracks I recorded with Mr. Watson and guitar great Michael Thompson. Mr. Thompson has worked with such greats as (Quincy Jones, Animal Logic with Stewart Copeland, Babyface, and has played on many big hits, “Change the World” by Eric Clapton" Also, on this cd I had the pleasure of recording my good friend John Blackwell (drummer for Prince) The Cd is set for release on March 3rd 2009.

Amanda Somerville was featured on Kamelot's latest release "Ghost Opera" and recently toured with Epica and Avantasia. Openers for this special concert will be Serenity (AU) and special guests Delain (NL).
Also we have many requests for fans that are attending the show in Pratteln, Switzerland (March 31st, 2009, Z-7) and are traveling from Germany, France, Austria, Italy and other places. Here is a list of hotel options for the area:
Norway's own, Roy S. Khan, returns to his hometown Elverum with the Florida based metal band Kamelot. This special outdoor event will take place on Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 in Elverum, Norway near Norsk Skogmuseum (Norwegian Forest Museum). Also appearing as support on this special event will be Pagan's Mind as well as other local acts. The organizers for this event plan to use the "biggest mobile stage in Norway" for Kamelot's first concert in Elverum.
Swedish band Dream Evil will be the special guest artist for Kamelot's London show at Carling Academy Islington -Sunday, March 29th, 2009, Tickets on sale now!

The historic concert venue The Astoria is set to close for good on January 15, in order to make way for the new Crossrail railway project, this despite public opposition and many online petitions. The new venue for Kamelot's London appearance will be the Carling Academy Islington. All tickets purchased for The Astoria will be good at the door of the Carling Academy.

Kamelot confirmed for Norway's Classic Rock Festival- May 21st, 2009 in Sandnes, Norway.
As 2008 is winding down we look back at this incredible year with so many fantastic memories! From the amazing headliner shows in Europe, North America and Japan to the festivals in Europe including the 70,000 screaming fans at Wacken Open Air. Its been a banner year for us, and thanks to all the fans we have achieved new milestones in our journey.
Now that 2009 looms near, we look forward to what is ahead for you and Kamelot. Another European Headliner tour is set for Spring 2009, including a longer UK leg. We will visit some new cities and venues on
this anticipated trip.
We also start one of several songwriting sessions in January 2009. Thomas will join me here in the mountains of Norway to begin work on the next Kamelot album. We will take some photos of the sessions and keep you all in touch with our progress. We want to thank all of you for this amazing year and wish all of you a Happy New Year! 2009 will definitely rock!

We are just back from Texas, USA where we ended the US Tour 2008 in Fort Worth/Dallas. The entire tour was packed with fond memories and special moments with all the fans. On behalf of the band I would like to thanks all the local supports acts that opened for us, the amazingly cool guys from Edguy, they kicked it every night and were a lot of fun to hang with. Big thanks to our amazing crew: Taz, Rich, Donnie, Tommy, Schwartzie, Jake, Achim, Punchy and Linda. Our female singer Anne-Catrin Märzke, our bus driver Mike, the coolest and safest driver you can imagine. All our supporters with gear! And most of all you the fans for your support - we will see some of you in March at the European Tour in 2009!!

We caught vocalist Khan and guitarist Thomas Youngblood just before their second gig
from the "Ghost Opera US Tour 2008" for an exclusive Kamelot.com interview. This is what they told us:
Hi Khan & Thomas! How are things going at the Kamelot camp? Khan: It's going great! Yesterday, October 9th we started off the tour in St. Petersburg here in Florida (we're actually in Ft. Lauderdale as this is being written... on the East coast). It was a great gig with that little extra "first show tension" and we're all excited about the month ahead.
So now you are touring the US with your "Ghost Opera US Tour 2008". What can you tell us about this? Thomas: Some of the shows have local support and others will have Edguy from Germany as special guests. This is our last US tour until the next album is released, probably in 2010, so we are really going to miss playing for the fans here. The fanbase in the states and Canada has grown so fast in the last 3-4 years and its really awesome to tour here. We hope to do a Canadian tour in 2009 by the way.
Where will you play? Khan: Tomorrow (October 11th) we will head all the way up the East coast and then go across the Mid West up to Seattle. From there we go down the West coast and turn east again from Los Angeles. The tour ends in Texas. See Tour section for details.
After this tour you will be resting until the second leg of the European Tour in March/April 2009, where you will be playing in some new cities. What could your fans expect? Thomas: After the US tour we start writing sessions in Norway, then we have some select European dates in March as well as our first UK Tour. It will mark our first time playing in Scotland and Ireland, which is going to be amazing. We are already getting tons of emails from fans there and we expect packed rooms for those gigs. We are planning big pyro shows for some of the venues in Europe that allow pyros, like Tilburg in The Netherlands and Pratteln in Switzerland for example. The shows outside of the UK will include the band Delain from The Netherlands, very cool band and sound. Check out their Myspace site at www.myspace.com/delainmusic!
We heard rumors that Kamelot will play a private concert in Dubai this year. Can you tell us about this? Thomas: I can't confirm or deny this at this moment. All I can say is we have been contacted by a promotor about Dubai. We'd love to play there and we have some serious fans in the UAE so nothing is impossible. Stay tuned!
How was the experience of playing with Iron Maiden? Summer 2008 will be a period to remember also for your performance at the Wacken Open Air I assume. Khan: Man, we have played in front of thousands of fans before but Wacken was definitely the largest crowd at 70,000. Another highlight was of course playing the Iron Maiden gig in Assen, Holland. As kids both Thom and I were huge Maiden fans, like so many others. To see them still kicking total ass today was really awesome. The band and crew were very cool and we had a real blast on stage.
One question which fans are always asking is about your live equipment. You have great endorsements supporting Kamelot. Tell us about this and the way they help Kamelot live. Thomas: I recently hooked up with Digitech and will be trying out their new GSP1101 and maybe some of their other effects. Also Elixir strings are now one of our endorsers, these strings are really amazing. They last 3-4 times longer than normal strings, and they sound great. ESP Guitars has been with Kamelot for several years now. We just got word from Warwick basses that Sean will be playing Warwick and running Warwick amps, killer stuff. I recently met Michel Lag Chavarria from Lag guitars, I am playing their acoustic guitars on tour. They have some amazing guitars and we hope to work together on something in the near future. You are getting many fans each day. What do you think is the secret behind Kamelot? Khan: Our fan base is growing fast and I guess they could answer that question better. Personally I think the secret is that we simply love doing this... all parts of it. I also think and hope that our fans appreciate that we put everything we can into our art; be it time, money or passion. They have come to expect a certain standard, and our goal is to go beyond those expectations... every time. That's a good aim to keep it interesting to ourselves anyway.
Don't you ever get tired of all the touring and being away from home? Thomas: It has it's pros and cons. You have to remember that this is something we love doing. At the same time it is of course a dilemma that we have to be away from home, family and friends in long periods. We feel very fortunate to be able to live this dream, but everyone around us understands that this is our job too.

Kamelot has been invited to participate in the annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days foundation. World Music Days happens October 1-31 this year, on every continent. A Global Network of Concerts promoting Unity, Tolerance, and "Harmony for Humanity".
Since World Music Days' inception in 2002, more than 2,000 concerts in over 77 countries of every musical genre have been dedicated to Danny's belief that through the universal language of music we can bridge differences and unite people around their shared humanity.
Other notable artists include Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, REM, Sting, Elton John and many many more.

Kamelot featured on "Rock S'Cool Vol. III" DVD
The DVD will be available at a particularly reasonable fan friendly price. Between the beginning of November and the end of December 2008, fans will also be able to get hold of a select album by each of the artists at a reduced price as part of a special retail campaign.

Bassist Sean Tibbetts gained notoriety recently as the touring bassist for the Tampa-based Metal monsters Kamelot. He's also the driving force behind extreme metal act Royal Anguish. Tibbett's will be sporting Warwick amps on Kamelot's upcoming tours as well as a Streamer Stage II and a Thumb Neck-thru, both 4-strings. Warwick is looking forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Sean. Listen for Sean to be sporting Warwick gear on the future recordings and live shows all over the planet.

Hello Kamelotians!
Just wanted to send a quick note regarding the upcoming events and other tidbits. Just received the first clip from our upcoming video "Love You to Death" that we shot a few months ago in Belgrade, Serbia again with ICode. The video turned out beautiful and tragic and really fits the song and feel we were hoping for. There are some minor changes to be made and then we will decide when to release it.
We are getting set the US tour, it's going to be blast! We kick off the tour here in Saint Petersburg, Florida at the State Theatre, October 9th. We are also looking forward to the shows with the guys from Edguy, I'm sure it will be a great tour!
