| 20 March 2008 | Some words from Khan |
Hello My Friends!
I want to thank everybody that left a post in connection with my birthday last week or sent me messages and mails. I really really appreciate it! We're working hard these days with tour preparations, finishing up videos and a lot of other stuff. Actually the video for Rule the World was finalized this week... and I have to say I'm extremely happy with it. Release will be before the tour in April. Prepare for the ultimate reality escape ;-)
Have fun & treat each other right!
Yours forever,
Khan |

| 14 March 2008 | A quick update from Thomas Youngblood |
From Kamelot.com, we asked Kamelot guitarist Thomas Youngblood for some quick updates:
Hi Thomas, how are things going?
Hi Pako! Going great here, we are rehearsing for the upcoming European Tour, we just got some presale numbers and it's looking great!
How is Sean Tibbetts doing, the bassist that was doing an amazing job filling in for Glenn, last we heard he dislocated his knee at the show in London?
Sean has fully recovered, he was a real warrior on that tour man. Glenn is still having conflicts with touring, Sean will be on tour with us again and this time he has to lay off the spin moves that leads to dislocating of joints, haha! Funny thing is I thought I broke my foot a few weeks ago on a Ripstik, stay away from those things people. |

How are things with the new video "Rule the World"?
Well, we received the final version a few days ago and we were all floored by the final outcome. It was great to get back to Belgrade to shoot and hang out with the creative team there. The video will certainly be one if not the best video we have ever done. The graphics and visuals are amazing and it was fun to see my character on the screen this time as a bad guy. Some world premiers will be announced soon.
The new release "Ghost Opera - The Second Coming" is due to be in stores at the end of March and early April in the US. Can you tell us something about it?
Well, the idea of a reissue was thrown around with adding some bonus songs, etc... We wanted to release a Live CD that we did from Belgrade, Serbia on the first trip to Europe for Ghost Opera. So we thought that if we do a reissue it has be packed with great material and not just bonus songs. We added a new cover, thick new booklet with new photos and graphics. A live video clip from the Belgrade show and 10 live songs on the 2 disc slipcase packaging. Not just another reissue by any standards. |
So the tour is coming up, any new songs, surprises?
Yes, we are adding new songs and some older songs that fans have been asking for. In the countries where pyros are allowed we are doing full pyro shows and large staging. We are itching to get back out there!
In closing tell us a little about the US tour coming up.
Well, we just announced a US run with Edguy as special guests. We are sure those nights coming up will be killer. I think a future run in Canada is on the table as well, let's see.

| 03 March 2008 | "Ghost Opera" - Best Power Metal album and video |
Kamelot once again wins the Best Power Metal album "Ghost Opera" and also Best Video "Ghost Opera" on MetalStorm poll. Thanks to all the fans for voting!!
From the MetalStorm site:
... But the best tussle was in the Power Metal category. There we saw the closest result in Metal Storm history! Only one vote separated Nightwish's Dark Passion Play album and Kamelot's Ghost Opera, with the latter taking the gold. For the whole week leading up to the end it was even, Nightwish by two, then four, then Kamelot pegged them back a few votes. It was exciting stuff even if you weren't such a keen Power Metal fan! All of you out there that voted for Kamelot can think to yourselves "wow, it would've been a draw if it wasn't for my vote!". |
| 12 February 2008 | "Ghost Opera" reissue to include bonus features |

| 10 January 2008 | Signed guitar winner! |
Long time fan thrilled at her long awaited piece of memorabilia.
In the last 2 months that Metal Maniacs' November/December issue has been in circulation, fans have been eager to find out if they'd be the lucky winner of a beautiful LTD H101FM guitar by the ESP Guitar Company, autographed by Thomas Youngblood of Kamelot. The entry forms were found in a full page advertisement in Metal Maniacs which included a large picture of Youngblood rocking with his ESP guitar, as well as the band's new album Ghost Opera, released on SPV this past summer.
As January 1st came and went, it was finally time to randomly draw and announce the name of the lucky winner. Everyone always hopes that a true fan will win a contest like this, and winner 20 years old Kathleen Morton of Richmond, Virginia couldn't have fit the bill any better! She excitedly explains that she has been a fan of Kamelot for five years, never missing a show that they've played in her home state of Virginia. Kathleen also goes on to explain that she's had a CD signed by the whole band except the lead singer, Roy Khan. Lucky for Kathleen, inside the hard case that houses the ESP is also a press shot, autographed by the entire band. "This is a dream come true" - Kathleen [photo]

| 09 January 2008 | Exclusive interview |
Kamelot.com caught up with guitarist Thomas Youngblood at home in Tampa Bay, Florida for some updates.
Hi Thomas. How are things going in the Kamelot camp?
Hi Pako! All is well here, we are winding down from lots of holiday cheers and partying. It's been a nice but short break for us to recharge the batteries for some intense months coming up.
Next months of April/May you will be touring Europe for second time with the Ghost Opera World Tour. What can we expect for this shows?
Well, we expect some crazy, hot nights with the best fans in the world. Some of the shows in the larger venues will have pyros and extra staging. It will be our most extensive live tour so far. We are adding some new songs to the setlist, so we have some intense rehearsing to do.
What plans do you have after this European Tour? Any plan for touring North America again or another part of the world?
There have been talks about touring the US and Canada after the Summer Festivals. Other countries have been mentioned as well and we are waiting the confirmation on that before any announcements.
We know you will shoot a third video supporting Ghost Opera. What can you tell us about this?
We leave in a few days for the shooting of two new videos from Ghost Opera, Rule the World and one more. Once again we will go to Belgrade for the next video and the script is very cool! We hope to have pics from the scene for the fans to see.
I love your acoustic ballads and you have many on your career. Have you thought playing acoustic shows? It will be a great idea for a new DVD...
We had hoped to do this on the last tour but the timing did not work out. I would like to do this as well as a concert with an orchestra. These things take time and money to plan and do right.
You are endorsed by ESP Guitars. Can you explain us which guitar equipment you use for studio/live and why?
I use ESP Eclipse's and Horizon's. I have a Viper but my faves are the ones mentioned. I also use Strats, Les Pauls in the studio. Sascha has a great Gold Top LP that we use sometimes. For live it's very important that the guitar is comfortable and not too heavy. A 90 minute plus concert is like a marathon and I don't want to carry around a boat anchor... haha!
I see the band is growing each day more in popularity. My theory about this is that you are composing fantastic songs, a great support in the Net and that you take care of all your fans on an special way. Are you agree with me?
Thanks man, we cherish the fans. There is a unique soul and energy to the Kamelot fans that is like no others. Some of the concerts are like religious experiences, it's really something we look forward to every night. Our philosophy is to always do the best we can with the time and money we have. That goes for composing, videos, artwork and live shows.
Are you working on a new studio album?
We are slowly working on new ideas, I have installed a new studio here and once the kinks are out I can start writing more. There is no timetable, we will not release a new record until we are ready and there is still alot of touring and things going on for Ghost Opera.
Thanks for giving us some minutes for answering this exclusive interview. Your last words for the Kamelotians...
Many thanks to all of you and we hope to see everyone with their voices on the upcoming touring!! |

Hello All,
We are back for a short rest at home after an intense and incredible tour of North America. This was our 3rd tour of the US and Canada and we are already looking at dates in 2008 for a return. The fans in the US and Canada were amazing, thanks for everything! Our friends Leaves' Eyes kicked ass every night despite a lot of adversity, the first few shows they used borrowed equipment due to KLM losing their luggage. Special thanks to Alex Krull for his role as Mephisto every night. We will plan some shows with them again in the near future!
I guess most of you have seen the new video for "The Human Stain", if not it's now online on YouTube, MySpace and Ghostopera.com.
Back to Europe!! Yes, our frequent flyer miles are stacking this year. We return to London for the first time in years and our new friends Threshold will be special guests on the night. We are told that the tickets are selling fast so get them before they sell out. After that we visit The Netherlands again for some special concerts, we have been cleared to use some pyros for the shows there! Then two new cities in France, Bordeaux and Lyon. After over one and half years we return to our friends in Spain, which always proves to be HOT HOT HOT! Then a long flight to Tokyo to party in the East with the metal maniacs in Japan, this trip will be one for the record books!! In fact we are video taping as much as possible for an upcoming DVD Bonus, so put on your best metal faces if you see a camera in your face!!!
Cheers,

| 29 June 2007 | Checking in |
Hi All,
Back in Sunny and way too HOT Florida for 10 short days before heading back to Italia! The shows in The Netherlands, Russia and Spain were amazing for us. Starting with the Fields of Rock in The Netherlands. We arrived on the festival area to some rain and were quickly taken to the stage were we going to play at. There we met the pyros guys who weren't sure if we could use the flame projectors we brought in. The Festival organizers finally gave the approval and the fun began. The dutch fans and fans from Belgium have been amazing over the years and after the soldout shows earlier in the year we were met again with a loud and energetic audience. We are planning the two VERY SPECIAL concerts for you fans in The Netherlands this Sept. After meeting hundreds of the fans at the signing session we watched a little Iron Maiden and headed back to Amsterdam for our flight to Russia. After lots of running around with local taxi drivers we arrived in Moscow and were greeted by having no guitars!! My ESPs were nowhere to be found. So we had a plan to use the opening bands guitars. Thanks Guys!! 10 minutes before showtime we had the guitars delivered, they were stuck earlier in Amsterdam. The Moscow fans were amazing, loud, generous and we already have plans to return as soon as possible. One of the fans gave me a snowglobe that read on the bottom “One Cold Winters Night in Moscow”. Ironically my daughter collects snow globes so its was even more special. The next day we went to Red Square and had a great time with our new friends in Moscow. From there we headed to Spain, we landed in Madrid and hung out for 2 days until heading to Zaragoza. We met with Rocky and Pako, thanks to you both for your help!
The festival was run great, the stage was perfect in size and since it has been quite a while since we have been in Spain we were excited about playing in front of the Spanish fans. The intro started and the mayhem began, its was amazing, Ole' Ole' Ole' Ole' was chanted several times during the set and we are now ready to return to Spain for headliner shows this October!! GET READY!!
